Ghanaian X-Factor UK finalists, Reggie N Bollie say they are content with the progress they made in the competition.
According to the duo, they were sceptical about their chances when they decided to audition for the contest but the four 'yeses' they got from the judges at the audition spurred them on.
Speaking to host of the Cosmopolitan Mix on Joy FM, Doreen Andoh, Bollie explained that We felt like we were winners already just by being in the finals because when we entered the competition we didnt think we were going to go that far.
We just wanted to know we were doing something right so for us to be in the finals, we felt that whatever happens we are already winners, he added.
The pairemergedsecond in the 2015 edition of the X Factor UK music reality show in December last year.
Reggie N Bollie made it to the shows final, alongside Louisa Johnson, with the hope of winning the 1 million prize money but Louisa beat them to the grand prize.
Shortly after the show, there were reports that Sony Music, which is the parent organisation of Syco Entertainment, signed Reggie N Bollie on its record label. They will have the opportunity to record an album with the organisation.
The duo who arrived in Ghana on Tuesday disclosed they will be shooting a video for their single which will be released on May 13, 2016.
They told Doreen they are excited and humbled by how far theyve come as artists and do not take the opportunities provided them lightly.
Reggie said We were trying so much to get the traction we needed to start our career in UK.That is why we auditioned for the X factor. We didnt expect to get even one yes and we had all four yeses and we thought that means there is something we were doing right so we needed to keep doing that
We treated every show as if it was our last so we gave it our best and put everything we could into it.
They described controversial judge Simon Cowell as a nice but brutally honest person, one who doesnt joke when the job needs to be done.
With the support they are getting from him and their mentor Cheryl Fernandez, the duo are confident theyll soar higher.
They advised upcoming artists not to lose hope but believe in themselves and anything that you perceive in life,dont give up, keep going. Even if it looks as if theres no door opening for you, just keep going and youll get there.
At any time in your life as a human being you need to be ready to sacrifice what you are for what you want to be, Reggie added.
